General information only

The tools, guides and articles on this website are for general information and convenience. We work to keep them accurate, but we do not guarantee that they are complete, current or free of errors.

File-processing results vary

Compression, resizing, conversion and PDF creation produce different results for different files, browsers and settings. Output may be larger than expected, lower in quality, or unsupported by some programs or upload forms. Lossy compression cannot be undone. You are responsible for checking every downloaded file before using or sending it, and for keeping your originals.

Compatibility

We do not guarantee that every tool works in every browser, device or document. Very large, damaged, encrypted or unusual files may fail.

Calculators and counters

Percentage, discount, word-count and reading-time results follow the rules stated on each page and may differ from other tools, shops, software or platforms. Reading and speaking times are estimates. Prices and tax in real purchases are decided by the seller, so the receipt is what counts.

No professional advice

Nothing here is financial, tax, legal, medical or other professional advice. Consult a qualified professional for decisions that matter.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of other websites or services we link to or mention.

No guarantees about outcomes

Nothing on this website promises particular search rankings, traffic or advertising results.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on the website or its tools. See the Terms and Conditions.

Notes for each tool

Articles and guides

The articles explain general ideas and typical approaches. File-size limits, form requirements, software menus and laws change, so check the current rules of the service or organisation you are dealing with. Where an article mentions a study or a software feature, it reflects what was known when the article was written, and you should verify details that matter to you.

Backups and data loss

Always keep a copy of the original file before using any tool. We cannot recover files lost, overwritten or damaged during your use of the website, because we never receive them.

Availability

The website may be unavailable at times for maintenance, hosting problems or other reasons, and features may change or be removed without notice.

Names and trademarks

Product, format and company names that appear on the website, for example PDF, WebP, JPEG, PNG, Word, Excel, Google or Hostinger, belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility or to explain a topic. This website is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Our PDF tools use the open-source pdf-lib library under the MIT licence.

The website does not publish customer reviews or testimonials, and at the date above it contains no paid endorsements or affiliate links. If that changes, those links will be labelled clearly.

Examples are illustrations

Numbers used in guides and articles, such as example file sizes and percentage savings, illustrate how a tool works. They are not promises. Your results depend on your files, settings and browser. Examples that show calculations, such as a discount or a reading time, are worked out by hand from the formulas on the page so you can check them.

Important documents

If you are preparing files for something that matters, such as a visa application, a court filing, a tax return, a medical record or a job application, check the receiving organisation’s requirements first, and check every output file yourself before you submit it. Organisations’ rules about file size, format and layout change, and the guides on this site cannot cover every case.

Changing information

Software menus, browser features, file-size limits on other websites and laws can change after a page is written. If something in a guide no longer matches what you see, please tell us at contact@shbonlineshop.com so we can correct it.

Accessibility

We try to make the website usable with a keyboard, with readable colours and with assistive technology, but we cannot promise it is free of barriers. If you meet one, write to us and describe what you were trying to do, and we will look into it.

Open-source software

The PDF Merger and PDF Compressor use the pdf-lib library under the MIT licence, which is supplied without warranty. Problems that come from that library are outside our control, although we will do our best to work around them.
